North Clarion robotics team is state champion

The North Clarion Robotics team competed in the state VEX Robotics Competition on Saturday, March 12 at Clarion University.

Three out of the four teams made it to the finals. The following teams placed in the competition: the team of Kylie Domino and Alana Brooks qualified 25th, the team of Owen Shaffer, Nicole Fair, and Brynn Siegel qualified 24th, and the team of Andy Castner, Kaleb Wolbert, and Ethan Carll qualified in first-place.

During finals, Castner, Wolbert, and Carll’s team made it to the last round where they lost the first match in a two out of three of the finals but fought back to win the last two matches to become state champions and are now heading to the Worlds Robotic competition in Dallas, Texas on May 5 to 7.

Furthermore, at the competition, Castner, Wolbert, and Carll’s team won the Amaze Award for having an amazing, well-rounded, and top-performing robot. Also, Fair, Shaffer, and Siegel’s team won the Build Award for their well-crafted robot.
