Narcan training set in Clarion County

From staff reports

The Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission, in conjunction with Clarion County coroner Randall Stom, is hosting drug awareness presentation and Narcan training events throughout Clarion County in the coming months.

The public sessions will be held at 6 p.m. at the following locations: New Bethlehem fire hall, July 25; Knox fire hall, Aug. 2; Farmington Township fire hall, Leeper, Aug. 6; Rimersburg Community Building, Aug. 29; and the Structural Modulars Building, Strattanville, Sept. 12.

The events will cover the local opioid issue, recovery services and free Narcan training and distribution.

The purpose of the training will be to increase access to Narcan for individuals that may come in contact with persons with opiate-related substance use disorders in an effort to prevent overdose deaths. Narcan is a safe, effective medication that can save a life by reversing the effects of an opioid overdose.
