Man shackled girl as collateral for loan to dad

BROWNSVILLE, Pa. (AP) – Police say a Pennsylvania man kept a 15-year-old girl in shackles as collateral for a loan to her father.

Thirty-year-old Christopher Wiley Brown, of Brownsville, was jailed Thursday on kidnapping, indecent assault and other charges.

The (Uniontown) Herald-Standard says the girl agreed to care for Brown’s disabled fiance as part of the loan agreement, which also required her father to repair Brown’s home.

But the girl tells police Brown restrained her with leg shackles, handcuffs and a ball gag on Tuesday. Brown allegedly made her touch his private parts, then sleep in the leg shackles.

Police say the girl freed herself and texted her father who met her and called 911.

Police say the teen’s father isn’t facing charges.

Brown faces a preliminary hearing February 17 and doesn’t have an attorney listed in court records.
