Man charged with raping his daughter

From staff reports

A 55-year-old Farmington Township man faces 78 sexual assault-related charges as state police allege the man repeatedly raped his daughter when she was between the ages of 14 and 16.

The alleged abuse began with inappropriate touching in 2006 when the victim was 5 or 6 years old.

It is the policy of the Clarion Extra to not identify the victims of sexual assault. In this case, the defendant is the alleged victim’s father. To identify the defendant would in turn identify the alleged victim. Therefore, the defendant will not be identified in this report.

The defendant is charged with 12 counts of rape, a first-degree felony; 12 counts of sexual assault, 14 counts of aggravated indecent assault and four counts of aggravated indecent assault on a person younger than 13, all second-degree felonies; 12 counts of incest, an unclassified offense; one count of corruption of minors and five counts of indecent assault on a person younger than 13, all first-degree misdemeanors; 15 counts of indecent assault without consent of other person, and three counts of indecent assault on a person younger than 16, all second-degree misdemeanors, all between 2006 and 2016 in Farmington Township.

On Nov. 12, 2017, state police received a report from Clarion County Children & Youth Services pertaining to an alleged rape.

The victim allegedly disclosed her father had sexual intercourse with her on 11 or 12 occasions with the first occurrence being in 2014 and the last time in December, 2016.

The victim was interviewed by state police Tpr. Kathleen Watters and CYS casework Judy Myers on Nov. 20, 2017.

The victim stated she and her father do not get along and have not spoken in several years due to him allegedly being verbally and physically abusive.

She allegedly described how her father came into her bedroom, put his hand over her mouth and raped her.

The alleged victim said afterwards, he threatened to kill her and her mother if she ever told anyone.

On Jan. 4, state police Tpr. Shawn Nicewonger received an email from the victim with details of alleged past instances of abuse.

The victim explained she wanted to provide as much information as possible concerning the case.

She allegedly said her father began to touch her in a sexual manner in 2006.

Throughout 2010, when she was 9- or 10-years-old , the defendant allegedly would hold her down while performing sexual acts on her.

He allegedly would touch her in a sexual manner as well. She allegedly said the defendant would sit on her legs so she couldn’t move.

When he allegedly raped her the first time, he covered her mouth with one hand and held her arm down with the other.

She allegedly reported “every other time he raped me was very similar to that first time.”

The defendant is being held at the Clarion County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
