Man accused of trying to steal car parts from vehicle

A Titusville man is facing charges for trying to steal car parts Wednesday from a vehicle on Deep Hollow Road.

Franklin state police said in a criminal complaint they responded to a call at about 1 p.m. Wednesday for a theft in progress at a Deep Hollow Road property near the intersection of Deep Hollow and Route 322.

The property owner said he had been driving down Deep Hollow when he noticed a vehicle that was not his parked on his property, so he turned around and pulled into the driveway, blocking the other vehicle in, according to the complaint.

The property owner found Joseph Feely, 47, under a jacked up white Chevy Blazer and a battery for a sawzall on the ground next to a tire, the complaint said.

Feely told police he was looking for a cross member for his vehicle, according to the complaint.

Police observed a yellow DeWalt sawzall on the passenger side floor of Feely’s vehicle, the complaint said.

Feely has been charged with misdemeanor counts of theft from a motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking -movable property and criminal mischief-damage property as well as a summary count of criminal trespass/simple trespasser and three summary driving violations.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.
