Make-A-Wish wishes for volunteers

From staff reports

Make-A-Wish is seeking volunteers in Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango and Warren counties.

Local residents are needed to assist in fulfilling the wishes of children with critical illness, who need the power of a wish.

As wish team members, volunteers are the face of the foundation in local communities. Wish teams meet one-on-one with eligible children and their families and help determine the best wish for each child.

Volunteers must be at least 21-years-old, pass a criminal background check and attend a one-time in-person training session.

The next training session begins at 8:30 a.m. April 6 in the regional Make-A-Wish office at 1001 State St., Erie. The foundation is always looking for volunteers. Those interested should contact vice-president of development Jan Stork at 868-9474 or email jstork@greaterpawv.wish.org.
