International photographer’s work will be on display

From staff reports

An international photography exhibit and silent auction will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Fusion Cafe, 185 Main Street, Brookville.

The exhibit will feature the work of Gustave Iraguha, a 27-year-old freelance photographer from Kigali, Rwanda.

In 1994, at age 1, Gustave lost most of his family, including both parents, during genocide that occurred in Rwanda against the Tutsi people. He was reared by a surviving uncle and his wife.

Iraguga’s photography focuses on people, cultures, nature and landscapes.

The event will be held all day and will continue into the evening beginning at 7 p.m. as part of the annual CREATE Brookville’s “Soup ‘n’ Soul,” which combines homemade soups and live performance. The daytime segment is free of charge.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, seating is limited and reservations should be made by calling (814) 271-7726.
