Indivisible group announces Women’s March in Clarion

From staff reports

Indivisible We Rise West Central PA announces a Women’s March in Clarion in coordination with sister marches in cities and communities across the globe.

The march in Clarion is one of more than 100 happening nationwide on Saturday, Jan. 19, commemorating the 2017 Women’s March on Washington.

People may gather at 1 p.m. at the gazebo in Veterans Memorial Park and walk together to the Clarion Free Library.

The event is an opportunity to support women’s rights, human rights and the rights of all people to social justice.

Keynote speakers for the event include Susan Boser, former candidate for the commonwealth’s 15th Congressional District and a sociology professor at Indiana University; and Dr. Catherine Adams, a board-certified pediatrician and adult-child psychiatrist practicing in central Pennsylvania.

There also will be motivational speeches by advocates of local women and family support groups. Blessings by area clergy and songs of unity, peace and hope will be featured in the program.

In case of severe weather, attendees will gather at 1 p.m. at the Clarion Free Library instead of the park.
