I-80 ramp closures scheduled

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing upcoming ramp closures as part of the resurfacing project for Interstate 80 in Clarion County beginning May 7.

Contractor, IA Construction Corporation of Franklin will be closing and detouring ramps for the Interstate 80 resurfacing work from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday.

Detour routes will be established with signage for each individual ramp as they are closed. This work will begin starting May 7 and continue through July 5.

Only one set of ramps will be closed per weekend as follows:

  • Exit 62 Clarion westbound from 6 p.m.Friday, May 7 through 6 a.m. Monday, May 10
  • Exit 62 Clarion eastbound from 6 p.m. Friday, May 14 through 6 a.m. Monday, May 17
  • Exit 64 New Bethlehem eastbound from 6 p.m. Friday, May 21 through 6 a.m. Monday, May 24
  • Exit 64 New Bethlehem westbound from6 p.m. Friday, May 28 through 6 a.m. Monday, May 31
  • Exit 70 Strattanville westbound from 6 p.m. Friday, June 4 through 6 a.m. Monday, June 7
  • Exit 70 Strattanville eastbound from6 p.m. Friday, June 11 through 6 a.m. Monday, June 14
  • Exit 60 Shippenville westbound from 6 p.m.Friday, June 18 through 6 a.m. Monday, June 21
  • Exit 45 St. Petersburg westbound from 6 p.m.Friday, June 25 through 6 a.m. Monday, June 28
  • Exit 45 St. Petersburg Eastbound from 6 p.m.Friday, July 2 through Monday, July 5

These closures will be weather permitting. In the event work is canceled, the alternate date(s) will be the following weekend following the same order.

In other words, if any weekend is canceled, everything will move back one week.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the job site, and relevant training.
