Here are some ideas to get you thinking Spring

March is finally here, and it’s proof that you can never prepare for ALF too early! Voting for the Autumn Leaf Festival 2016 logo ends this Friday. You can come inside the Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry to vote for one of the top ten designs.  The chamber is located on 650 Main Street in Clarion. You can also vote for your favorite logo online at http://www.clarionpa.com and at the Clarion Area Chamber Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ClarionAreaChamber/?fref=ts.

This week the CU Movies on Main will not be showing movies since Clarion University students and staff are set to begin their spring break Friday. You should still visit your local cinema though and take the kids or your friends to see “Zootopia”, Disney’s latest foray in 3D animation.

On Saturday, the local Dancers’ Studio will present their second annual spring gala in the Barrows-Civic Theatre in Franklin. Come out to 1223 Liberty St. to see teams of dancers in all age groups compete. You can also buy tickets beforehand at the Dancers’ Studio at 609 Main Street in Clarion until the performance at  2-3:30 p.m. March 5. Tickets cost $12 per person.

Earth Day may be a ways off, but spring is right around the corner.  After all, it is March, so it is not too early to learn how to maintain that garden or front lawn. Visit the C & A Trees – Gear Up for Spring Workshop and Seminar at 53 Tree Lane in Clarion. Tickets are currently available for the afternoon and morning events that begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Speaker and author Kerry Mendez will be hosting the seminar and will be giving out tips for proper lawn and garden care.  Bring your neighbors to this event, and get ready to ring in spring!

Saturday sure is a busy day, but if bridal shows are your thing, you have something to do on Sunday too.  From noon to 2 p.m. at 45 Holiday Inn Road in Clarion, you can drop by the annual bridal show brought to the community by The Park Inn by Radisson. Guests can come for free, and registering can net you some special gifts this year!
