FREE NATURE PROGRAM    October 12   6:30 p.m.  Clarion Library

Seneca Rocks Audubon will sponsor a program presented by Steve Dowlan on  “Harney County, Oregon’s Great Basins and Ranges”.

This is the county, the landscape and the setting for the 41 day takeover and occupation of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge early this year. Steve lived and worked in Harney County for three years and is personally familiar with some of the people involved, and with the resources at stake. His presentation will describe the landscape, the flora, and fauna of Harney County, and its importance as a public resource.

A Shippenville native, Steve is currently a supervisory natural resource specialist for the Bradford Ranger District, Allegheny National Forest.

The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Clarion Free Library on Main Street in Clarion.  The program is free and open to the public.
