Former NFL player to speak at local schools

Willie Franklin, a former NFL player turned motivational speaker, missionary, and evangelist will be visiting the Clarion and Brookville vicinities during the first and second weeks of May.

This man has a uniquely inspiring story and will be sharing his talents with local people in several ways.

Franklin will be presenting a program as a motivational speaker at Clarion-Limestone and Brookville Schools on May 2 and 3. The program for the elementary and high school students at C-L will be held at 10 a.m. for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and 1:45 p.m. for seventh grade through 12th grade on Thursday, May 2, at the C-L high school auditorium and 7:30 and 9 a.m. on Friday, May 3, at the Brookville High School auditorium. Each session’s topic will be the value of education as a key to success.

Franklin will continue to speak in a faith-based capacity at a public youth rally held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at the Brookville High School Auditorium. This event is hosted by the Summerville Church of Christ and is open to all young people in kindergarten through 12th grade and their families. Light refreshments will be provided.
