Forestry documentary includes Clarion, Tionesta areas

From staff reports

A recent three-part documentary on the forestry industry in the Lumber Heritage Region of Pennsylvania is now available free of charge to viewers.

The Lumber Heritage Region is a 15-country region in Pennsylvania that includes Clarion and Tionesta on its Western-most border.

The series, “Legends of Lumbering,” includes a short introduction and three 30-minute sections, which are available on YouTube.

The video series tells the stories of the forest product industry through interviews with several long-time participants of the industry.

The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) says its goal is to reach people in the region and “Give them a better understanding of the impact the forest products industry has on our everyday lives. It is a way to educate people on the importance of using hardwoods in their lives.”

The LHR said it also hopes to get young people interested in the industry and consider it as a career option.

“Most of all, it is a way for us to educate youth on how a career in the forest products industry can be challenging, rewarding and fruitful,” said LHR.
