Sixteen students from East and West Forest high schools attended the state Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) leadership conference last month at Seven Springs.
The FCCLA is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for students in grades 6-12.
East Forest representatives were Nick Geraci, Lauren Geraci, Faith Healy, Logan Melego, Alixandria Lewis, Olivia Thompson, Eliana Beatty, and Taylor Oliver.
West Forest representatives were Jeffrey Bayle, Theresa Dando, Izzy Flick, Esther Forker, Hazel Hilyer, Jayden McKeel, Gabbriella Araujo, and Macalie Hoffmann.
The students combined to create 10 teams, and among them, they won 10 medals — three gold, six silver, and one bronze.
Six of the teams were invited to represent Pennsylvania on the national team, which will compete this summer in San Diego, California.
