At this year’s Heritage Days at Tionesta Lake, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers natural resource specialist Jason Quinn presented Forest County Sheriff Robert Wolfgang with the Commander’s Award for Public Service. The certificate given to Wolfgang mentions support from the sheriff’s office at Tionesta Lake during the apprehension of armed robbery suspects in July 2016 and during arrests made in July 2017 involving drug possession. This year marks the 17th year of contracted patrols between the Forest County sheriff’s office and the Army Corps of Engineers at Tionesta Lake in which the sheriff’s office provides necessary patrols and law enforcement.
