Forest County Courthouse closed due to positive virus test

From staff reports

The Forest County Courthouse will be closed until next Monday as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.

County Commissioner Bob Snyder said the spouse of a county employee tested positive for the virus.

Snyder said the closure was out of an abundance of caution and exceeded recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

However, Snyder said, the tax assessment office will still be open this week. The office has personal protective equipment (PPE) and will conduct business by phone or in the parking lot of the courthouse.

The commissioners meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday will be conducted over the phone.
