Firefly festival enters fifth year

From staff reports

The fifth annual Pennsylvania Firefly Festival at Black Caddis Ranch in Kellettville will begin at noon, June 24. Although all the walks for June 24, are full, there will still be plenty of firefly fun and entertainment for visitors to enjoy.

Nature and science exhibits with experts and naturalists will be on hand to answer questions about fireflies and information and maps will be provided so fireflies can be located in local back yards.

There will be activities for children and arts and craft vendors until 6 p.m. Live music and food trucks will be on hand until 10 p.m.

At dusk, for those who can be patient and willing to wait by a campfire, they will put people’s names on a “stand-by” list to take the place of those who do not show up for their walk.

The Tionesta Lions Club will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Sunday at Black Caddis Ranch for the blurry-eyed firefly watchers to enjoy.
