FAA: Plane that made emergency landing had ‘engine issues’

From staff reports

A preliminary report says a single-engine plane that made an emergency landing in a Clarion County field on Saturday “experienced engine issues” prior to making the landing.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the Piper PA24, which landed in the area of 3717 Huckleberry Ridge Road in Piney Township, had substantial damage, but no one was injured.

The FAA report confirmed the plane was carrying one pilot and a passenger.

The flight was under Part 91 operations, as opposed to Part 135 operations, making it a personal flight.

The Allegheny Flight Standards District Office is handling the investigation, according to the report.
