Entries being accepted for Horsethief prince, princess contest

The Knox Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary is accepting entries for its annual Knox Horsethief prince, princess contest.

Contestants’ pictures must be submitted by Saturday, July 29.

Only babies under 36 months of age who live in the Knox Volunteer Fire Company service area which includes Knox Borough, Salem, Beaver and parts of Ashland townships are eligible for the contest.

Interested persons should submit a 3-inch by 5-inch picture with the baby’s name and birth date, parent’s names, contact phone number and child’s address including the township or borough.

Previous winners are not eligible. Any decisions of eligibility will be made by the presidents of the fire company and ladies auxiliary and are final.

Voting will be held Monday, July 31, through Friday, Aug. 18, at the Farmer’s National Bank in Tom’s Riverside in Knox. Only votes cast there will count toward the contest winner.

Winners will receive $50 in gift cards and will be announced at the Horsethief parade Saturday, Aug. 19. All participants are encouraged to attend the announcement ceremony and ride in the parade. Participants should meet at the fire hall 30 minutes prior to the start of the parade. Pictures will be returned at the announcement ceremony.

All proceeds benefit the Knox Volunteer Fire Company.
