An Emlenton man accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a teenage girl waived his preliminary hearing in the case Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.

Charges filed against Samuel Guiste, 29, will now be bound over for further proceedings in the Court of Common Pleas.

Guiste is facing felony counts of child pornography, unlawful contact with a minor and contact/communication with a minor – sexual abuse, in addition to a misdemeanor count of corruption of minors.

A criminal complaint filed through district judge Patrick Lowrey’s office said Franklin state police trooper Paul Swatzler interviewed the 16-year-old girl at her home in May 2016.

She told Swatzler that in late summer/early fall 2015, she and Guiste had begun texting each other and it became sexual in nature, the complaint said.

The girl said Guiste sent her nude photos of himself, asked for her to send him nude photos and asked for sex, the complaint said.

She said she never sent Guiste any pictures and she deleted what he had sent to her, the complaint said.
Guiste was interviewed by Swatzler on Sept. 15, and he admitted texting the girl about sex, the complaint said.

Guiste later told Swatzler the situation was something that got out of control, even though be didn’t specifically remember any specific messages that were sent, the complaint said.
Guiste’s bail remains $15,000 unsecured.
