Conservation group receives grant for water improvement project

From staff reports

Armstrong Conservation District has received a $925,754 state grant for a water quality improvement project in Clarion County.

The project will involve installing a variety of best management practices, including infiltration trenches, vegetated swales, revegetation and reforestation along trails as well as removal of coal refuse.

The funding for this project sourced from the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund or Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund.

In Clearfield and Jefferson counties, the Falls Creek Borough Municipal Authority received a $2,000,000 loan to construct more than two miles of drinking water transmission line in order to connect to the City of Dubois’ system.

The projects were two of 23 projects in the state that received state funding through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, according to Gov. Tom Wolf.
