Community Choir presents annual holiday concert

The Clarion Community Choir is pleased to invite the public to its annual holiday choral concert, “Christmas Music of Europe” at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16 at Clarion First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood Street in Clarion.

Under the direction of Zachary Covington and Paulette Colantonio, the choir will present both sacred and secular choral works celebrating the holiday music and traditions of several European countries.

The choir is accompanied by Mary Brooks and will also feature a selection conducted by Stuart Estes, Director Emeritus.

The program includes Christmas music from Poland, England, Italy, Austria, France, and many others.

A highlight is John Rutter’s, Gloria, featuring accompaniment by pipe organ, brass and timpani.

Attendees will also enjoy an organ recital performance by the Clarion First United Methodist Church Organist, Ms. Mary Brooks.

The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be collected following the performance.

The Clarion Community Choir was founded in 1975, and has charmed audiences all over the world.

Singers include volunteers from Clarion and the surrounding areas. The choir meets weekly at the Clarion First United Methodist Church, and regularly accepts new members.
