The employee clubhouse which used to sit on the Owens-Illinois glass plant site was recently torn down in preparation for the Miles Brothers’ business park. Ryan Miles reported when preparing for demolition, they found the belongings of a squatter who had been living in the lower level of the abandoned building. When working on the sites infrastructure, Miles also said they found a shanty built of metal pieces on the site filled with syringes and more evidence of squatters living on the premises. Clarion Borough police were informed of the matter and the mess was cleaned up. The Glassworks business park is expected to be finished in several years. (By Brett R. Whitling)
