Clarion’s annual Foodstock drive begins

From staff reports

Foodstock, the annual Clarion County food drive that collects nonperishable, nonexpired food items to benefit local food banks, is underway.

The primary sponsor for the event is Clarion County Community Bank.

Collection containers are now available at BHS Family Healthcare of Clarion, Burford & Henry Real Estate Services, Burns & Burns Insurance, Clarion Area Chamber of Business & Industry, Clarion County Community Bank (Clarion, New Bethlehem and Rimersburg), Clarion County YMCA, Clarion Forest VNA, Clarion Mall, Foxburg Free Library, Rimersburg Senior Center, St. Joseph Church, Strattanville Borough, Tom’s Riverside (Knox, New Bethlehem and Rimersburg) and Water Run (Highland Oaks).

Donations also can be dropped off at the official Foodstock headquarters location — Clarion Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram — during the entire week of Autumn Leaf Festival.

Several groups have begun distribution of food collection bags in the Clarion, Knox, Marianne, Rimersburg, Sligo and Strattanville areas.

The bags have tags on them to let people know where the volunteer group is located and when it will be back to collect the filled bags.

For more information and other ways to donate, contact the Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry at (814) 226-9161 or info@clarionpa.com.
