The Venango County and Clarion County Democratic Party Committees have announced petition signing events for Democratic candidates in the May 16 primary election.
In Venango County, the events are scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. this Saturday at Iron Furnace Coffee in Franklin; 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Democratic headquarters on Seneca Street in Oil City; and 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Emlenton Coffee Haus.

In Clarion County, a signing event will start at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the Motel 6 in Clarion.
In addition to local races for many offices, including county commissioner, there are statewide races for Supreme Court, Commonwealth Court and Superior Court.
