Clarion Psychiatric Center ‘raises the bar’

From staff reports

The Clarion Psychiatric Center held a beam raising ceremony Jan. 31 to celebrate its 36-bed expansion project at its Monroe Township facility.

The ceremony took place at Two Hospital Drive, Clarion. Staff and community stakeholders were able to sign their names to the beam and be a part of the new structure.

CPC’s slogan is embedded on the beam in bold letters “We treat our patients like family.”

“At CPC we provide each of our patients with the care we would expect for ourselves or our loved ones.” said CEO Michael Post. “The responsibility of providing superior care is something we take very seriously.

“It is why we hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality, accountability, and service excellence, to ensure we are delivering the most effective care available today.”

The expansion will provide additional beds to serve and care for children, adolescents and adults with acute psychiatric symptoms.

The beam raising ceremony marked the construction of the 36-bed expansion of the existing 76-bed facility.

Upon completion, the facility will have a total of 112 beds as well as a new conference center for mental health trainings for treatment providers in the region.

The expansion project will add 72 employees to CPC’s existing 150-person staff.

Improving access to behavioral health services is an identified community need and top priority for CPC.

The expansion will help address the demand for mental health services in Clarion and the surrounding counties.

The expansion project was designed by Johnson Johnson Crabtree Architects, P.C with Deangelis Diamond as the construction manager.

The total project cost will be $12 million and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2018.

CPC has been providing inpatient psychiatric treatment for the past 30 years at their Monroe Township location.

The inpatient units provide care to patients from over 50 counties in Pennsylvania and constantly strive to put patients first while adhering to the highest clinical performance standards.

CPC has been named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for Hospital Based Inpatient Psych.
