Clarion man arrested on more charges

A Clarion man who had already been jailed in connection with the theft of a pickup truck in Beaver Township earlier this month is facing more charges.

Clarion state police have now charged Nicholas Anderson Aites, 24, for burglarizing a garage at a seasonal residence in Toby Township and taking two ATVs. Police say that incident occurred between Jan. 22 and Feb. 6.

The pickup truck was taken Feb. 6 from a Cropps Corners Road residence, police said.

Aites has been charged in both cases with felony counts of burglary, theft by unlawful taking of movable property and receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor count of unauthorized use motor/other vehicles.

Aites had also been wanted by parole officers, and troopers had received information he was at a residence in Clarion Township. He was located and taken into custody on the warrant and then charged in connection with the stolen pickup before the charges involving the ATVs were filed, police said.

A preliminary hearing for Aites is scheduled March 8.
