Clarion Mall to host ‘active shooter’ seminar

There will be a seminar called “Preparing for an Active Shooter” conducted by Rick Capozzi, a recognized expert in learning strategies, on Friday, Jan. 26, at the Clarion Mall.

Capozzi is a learning strategist and master of changing human behavior in stressful situations. For more than 25 years, he has been designing and delivering engaging and impactful personal development programs.

Preparing for an active shooter is his most well-researched program yet. Capozzi has become a nationally recognized expert on this topic, educating everyday people throughout the United States and Canada on how to be prepared for dealing with an active shooter scenario.

During the, participants will:

  • Review strategies recommended by Homeland Security
  • Move from condition white (oblivious) to condition yellow (aware)
  • Discuss the numerous response considerations and how to choose the most appropriate option for your scenario
  • Participate in a building walk-through, discussing response options by area
  • Run multiple drills in a controlled environment that will build muscle memory
  • Develop a survival mindset

The active shooter program will be held from 8 – 11:45 a.m. along with a lunch and concealed carry segment from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, at the Clarion Mall located at 22631 Route 68 in Clarion, just off Interstate 80 at exit 62.

The price of regular admission is $50, which includes breakfast from 8 -11:45 a.m. The price of the extended version of the program is $60, which includes lunch and the concealed carry segment.

Those who register before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, will receive $10 off of the admission price.
