Clarion Hospital will provide vaccines for Forest residents

Forest County commissioners announced Thursday that after a brief discussion, Clarion Hospital has agreed to provide COVID-19 vaccines for Forest County residents.

Commissioners said in a press release they “would like to thank Clarion Hospital for this generous offer.”

To receive the vaccine, Forest County residents are asked to register on the Butler Health System website at www.butlerhealthsystem.org. Residents who don’t have access to a computer can call (814) 927-6607 for help.

Those who call will need to leave their name and phone number in a voicemail message, and an attendant will return the call and assist residents with the registration.

As the vaccine becomes available, those registered will be called to schedule an appointment to be vaccinated, the commissioners said.

Any Forest County residents who are 65 or older and need transportation to get their vaccination can call the Forest County Transportation Department at (814) 927-8967 to schedule a ride, the commissioners said. There is no cost for the ride.

People who fall into the state Department of Health’s Phase 1A are eligible to receive the vaccine.

Phase 1A includes health care personnel, residents of long term care facilities and people 65 and older, among several other categories, according to the state Department of Health website.
