Clarion County reassessment effort continuing

The reassessment effort in Clarion County is continuing while the good weather lasts.

Sarah Garner, the project manager for Massachusetts based Vision Government Solutions, told Clarion County commissioners at their meeting Wednesday that there are 13 data collectors in the field.

She said the collectors are now working in Highland and Millcreek townships and will move to Brady Township, East Brady, Madison and Paint townships and Rimersburg Borough.

Garner said the collectors will work in the more rural areas of the county while the weather is good and move into the boroughs when the weather turns.

The data collection is the first step in the reassessment process. Values will be assigned at a later date.

Garner said 2,990 properties have been fully measured, or about 15.9 percent of the total number of properties in the county. The data collection will continue through September 2023.

“We are on track,” said Garner.

In other business at Wednesday’s meeting, the commissioners signed a four-year agreement with UGI Energy Services for natural gas.

The rate will be $4.85 per dekatherm, an increase of $2 per dekatherm.

The commissioners will meet Wednesday, Nov. 23, to release the county’s tentative 2023 budget.
