Clarion County offers Master Gardener classes

The Penn State Master Gardeners in Clarion County will hold classes for anyone interested in becoming a Master Gardener through Penn State.

The Master Gardener basic training is scheduled from 6 to 8:45 p.m. Thursday evenings from Oct. 3 to Feb. 27. The cost of the class is $200, including instruction by professional educators, textbook and hands-on activities.

Core classes include botany, plant propagation, pesticides and pest management, basics of entomology, plant diseases, soils and fertilizer, native plants, the vegetable garden, lawn care, indoor plants, pruning, composting, woody ornamentals, herbaceous plants, invasive species and weeds.
