Clarion County Democrats open campaign headquarters

The Clarion County Democratic Party has opened its new campaign headquarters at 15742 Route 322 East in Clarion.

The headquarters officially opened Monday evening with a celebration.

“This will be an important hub for county Democrats,” said Andy Lingwall, a member of the county’s Democratic Party executive committee.

The headquarters will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday until Nov. 8. The office will also be open on weekends whenever volunteer staff can be available.

“Activity at the headquarters will increase as November gets closer,” said Bill Miller, chairman of the Clarion County Democratic Party.

Miller said he expects to see major increases in the amount of activity after the Labor Day holiday and again later in September.

The headquarters will be available for voters to stop in and register, change registration, get information and discuss key issues.

“Regardless of party, every vote matters,” said Lingwall. “Vote for the candidate who you believe will do the best job.”

That message was echoed by Miller.

“I am the county chairman of the Democratic party, and I don’t straight party vote,” said Miller. “That would lead to mediocrity.”

“A lot of voters may not know that not voting a straight party ticket is an option,” said Lingwall.

Miller said the Clarion County Democrats have operated a local headquarters for the past five presidential elections.

Campaign materials including yard signs, buttons, bumper stickers and literature for Democratic candidates will be available at the headquarters.
