Students at the Clarion County Career Center are learning more than just academics. They are learning life lessons.
Just like in the classrooms, the Career Center teachers are providing the lessons. The instructors pooled their resources to provide two students’ families with a full meal for Thanksgiving.
The staff and students combine their efforts to support several community projects. In addition to supplying meals, the staff is supporting Clarion County promise with an angel tree.
Next week, the students will meet with a representative from the Clarion Cancer Center to present the proceeds from the annual “Coins for a Cure” fundraiser. The students have raised more than $18,000 over the past five years.
“This is our way to give back to our community and to teach our students to be good citizens,” said Skelly.
