Clarion company earns safety award

Terra Works Inc. of Clarion has been awarded the 2021 Safety Award for small companies from the National Utility Contractors Association of Pennsylvania.

It is the company’s seventh such award. Terra Works also earned the NUCA PA safety award in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

The award is given in recognition of the company’s safety record, its safety programs, communication, training, and education.

Terra Works is a civil construction contractor founded in 2002 by Ryan W. Miles Sr. and incorporated in 2009. The company is owned by three brothers: Ryan W. Miles, who is president; Curtis C. Miles, secretary; and Theron L. Miles, treasurer.

The company performs a variety of civil construction projects including underground public utility work, large site development projects, recreational park installation, concrete, and asphalt paving. Terra Works completes this work in both the municipal and commercial sectors.

NUCA Pennsylvania is a non-profit statewide trade association comprised of nearly 300 heavy highway contractors and suppliers specializing in sewer and water infrastructure construction.
