Clarion Community Choir choral concert set Dec. 10

From staff reports

The Clarion Community Choir will present its annual holiday choral concert —this year titled “A Family Christmas” — at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the First United Methodist Church, at 600 Wood St. in Clarion.

Under the direction of Zachary Covington and Paulette Colantonio, the choir will present both sacred and secular choral works celebrating the holiday which brings families and friends together from far and near. The choir is accompanied by Mary Brooks.

The concert is free and open to the public, and a free-will offering will be collected following the performance.

The program includes Christmas music celebrating stories and family traditions of the holiday season. It begins with an arrangement of sacred Christmas selections entitled “A Family Christmas,” which shares the story of Christmas and encouragement for celebrating the reason for the season.

Other selections include classic arrangements of holiday favorites, and attendees will also enjoy an organ recital performance by Brooks, organist at the Clarion First United Methodist Church.

The choir, made up of volunteers from Clarion and the surrounding areas, meets weekly at the Clarion First United Methodist Church and regularly accepts new members.
