Clarion Co. commissioners’ meeting ends in strange fashion

At the close of the Clarion County commissioners’ Tuesday morning reorganizational meeting, during which the commissioners were elected to individual posts, the ZOOM session took a bizarre turn.

On the display was not a county department head or a citizen, but three panels. The first panel showed the iconic chimp clanging cymbals. The second was a name. The third showed a man in a pornographic situation.

Assistant Chief Clerk Mindy Frampton immediately shut down the display, and the incident was turned over to the county’s IT department for investigation.

Commissioner Wayne Brosius said the meeting was not hacked. Rather, the number for the public meeting is posted on the county’s website and could be used by anyone.

During the meeting, the commissioners retained Ted Tharan as chairman of the board. Brosius was elected vice chairman and Ed Heasley was elected secretary.

The commissioners appointed Jillian Fisher as the county administer and chief clerk; Mindy Frampton was appointed deputy chief clerk.

The commissioners’ meeting, Salary Board and Retirement Board will meet at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday in the Administration Building, unless otherwise noted.

The meeting of the Jail Inspection Board was changed to 9 a.m. on the first Friday of each month in the Administration Building conference room, unless otherwise noted.

The commissioners set primary Election Day for May 18 and the Election Return Board for May 20. General Election Day is Nov. 8 and the Election Return Board is Nov. 11.
