Clarion canine club to hold obedience class

From staff reports

The Clarion Canine Obedience Club in Knox will hold a free sample obedience class for dogs Saturday, Sept. 7.

The event will be held to introduce people to the club’s offerings.

The “My Dog Can Do That!” event will give participating dogs a chance to use the club’s agility equipment, including jumps and tunnels, and to complete a simple rally/obedience course.

The activities will be done with dogs on leashes and will be supervised by the club’s trainers. Participating dogs must have current vaccinations and must be socialized around other dogs and people.

The event, held in conjunction with Responsible Dog Ownership Day, will also offer a chance for the public to visit the club and to receive information about different breeds, the training of dogs and the responsibilities of dog owners.

A light lunch will be served for a small charge or donation.

The Clarion Canine Obedience Club is located at 5290 Route 338, Knox.
