Clarion Area qualifies for state competition

CLARION – The Clarion Area High School Science Olympiad team competed in early March at Penn State Behrend in Erie and has qualified to attend the state level competition at Juniata College in late April.

At the Regional competition at Penn State Behrend the team earned a second place out of the 19 teams who competed. The results from each event at the competition are:

Air Trajectory – first place – Austin and Matt

Astronomy – first place – Kevin and Quentin

Chemistry Lab – fourth place – Sarah and Nick

Dynamic Planet – second place – Vic and Cody

Electric Vehicle –second place – Austin and Matt

Experimental Design – first place – Nick, Forest and Sarah

Forensics – first place –Elizabeth and Kevin

Fossils – second place – Victor and Cody

Geologic Mapping – fourth place – Shamecka and Vic

It’s About Time – fourth place – Emily and Kent

Robot Arm – third place – Kent and Austin

Wind Power – fourth place – Forest and Sarah
