Clarion approves payroll-related contract

Clarion County commissioners on Tuesday approved a contract with Paycom for payroll, processing, time clock systems and human capital management solutions for the county.

The contract will allow the use of new time clocks for county workers in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Acts.

The commissioners approved the use of thumb print scanning time clocks in county facilities.

The Fair Labor Standards Act establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, record keeping and child labor standards affecting full-time and part-time workers in the private sector and in federal, state and local governments.

“We haven’t worked out all the details yet,” said commissioner Ted Tharan.

In another matter Tuesday, the commissioners announced the county’s Office of Emergency Services is conducting a required annual review of the county hazard mitigation plan.

Copies of the plan are available for public review at the commissioners office.

Comments about the plan may be made in writing by Nov. 30 and submitted to the Emergency Services office. Comments made by the deadline will be included in the annual report.

Information about hazard mitigation can be found by calling David Dunn at the emergency services office at (814) 297-7902.
