Cause of man’s death after Forest Co. crash still undetermined

From staff reports

The cause of death of a Butler County man who died shortly after he was involved in a one-vehicle crash last weekend in Tionesta still hasn’t been determined.

Forest County Coroner Norm Wimer said an autopsy performed Thursday on Lawrence Treadway Jr., 39, of Renfrew, showed “no signs of internal injuries or an antatomical indication of his cause of death.”

Wimer said he is now waiting for toxicology testing to come back which takes five or six weeks.

At this point, no cause or manner of death has been determined, Wimer said.

Marienville state police said the crash occurred at about 6:45 a.m. Sunday when Treadway’s 1999 Ford F150LT traveled off Elm Street in Tionesta for unknown reasons and struck a utility pole.

Wimer said Treadway lost control of his vehicle near the Tionesta Fish Hatchery.

Police said the truck sustained “moderate damage in the crash.”

Treadway was still alive when a Tionesta Ambulance vehicle arrived at the scene, but he died a short time later before he could be transported, Wimer said.
