C-L visiting artists

Clarion-Limestone Elementary had two artists in residence this spring, courtesy the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Arts Path program and the C-L PTO. Multimedia artist Martha Murphy of North Carolina and wood sculptor Linda Van Gehutchten of Sarver helped the kids create art works inspired by (from left) Wassily Kandinsky, Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. The quote on the Kandinsky-type work in the foreground reads, “Color is a power which directly influences the soul.” Holding the works (from left) Ryan Hummell, Van Gehutchten, Damion Fiscus, Murphy, Alixandria Lewis, Noah McKinley, Brady Henry, Andrew Trenn and Tyler Klugh. Some of the works will be shown at venues around the area and some will go on permanent display at the Sawmill Center for the Arts in Cook Forest and at C-L Schools.
