C-L Holiday Tour of Lights will showcase decorations

Members of the Clarion-Limestone School District community have come up with an idea to help brighten the season amid the COVID-19 pandemic – a Holiday Light Tour caravan.

“I was thinking that my main focus of this project was to brighten the holiday season for our C-L families, especially our students who have been greatly impacted by the remote learning and loss of school activities,” said Ann Jamison, a C-L parent.

“Then, I started thinking about the senior citizens who haven’t seen their families for possibly over a year and our frontline workers who just need a break. There are families who have lost jobs or had their hours reduced. This is a little way to bring joy to many.”

Diana Detrick, the high school’s social worker, said anyone who would like their light decorations, or those of a street or neighborhood showcased to submit information no later than Wednesday. To access the survey, log on to Google and search for “CL Community Tour of Lights Survey.”

Anyone unable to use the survey should send their address and a brief description of the lights to Detrick at ddetrick@cenclear.org or to Jamison at jamison4@windstream.net.

“Any home, business or group is invited to participate and can decorate in any manner desired,” Detrick said. “If enough locations are received, a tour will be scheduled the week of Dec. 21.

“We’ll gather together, in our separate vehicles and meet at the school. From there, we will tour around our local communities enjoying the lights.”
