Bowl for Kids’ Sake is set for Jan. 27

On Saturday, Jan. 27, you can be a Super Hero for local youth by bowling in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Oil Region’s Second Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake event at Mt. Joy Lanes.

bbbsThis year’s theme is “Be a Super Hero,” so feel free to put on your cape and help us make a difference in the life of a local youth.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a great time to get together with your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers for a few hours of fun while you raise money to help kids in your community.

The Bowl for Kids’ Sake event serves as the major fundraiser for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a program ofFamily Service & Children’s Aid Society, and is supported by The United Way of Clarion County.

Through its community based, one-to-one mentoring program, youth who are facing adversity known as littles are carefully matched with adult volunteers known as bigswho can offer guidance and support.

We hear many wonderful stories about our bigs making a huge impact in the lives of our local youth.

Jessica Walters, program director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Oil Region stated the program can only survive with the support of the community.

“We truly rely on the kindness and generosity of our many volunteers and sponsors. We are very grateful for the continued partnerships we have established throughout the community and are always pursuing to create more.”

Bowl times are 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
