Autumn Leaf Festival

The annual Autumn Leaf Festival is set to take place from Saturday, Sept. 29, to Sunday, Oct. 7. The nine-day festival is chock full of activities and entertainment.

The first day of ALF will feature the United Way 34 th annual 5K and 10K, the Pennsylvannia state Old Time Fiddler’s contest. For children there will be Toucha- Truck, the Kids’ Carnival and the Power Wheels Derby®. Attendees will be able to view the Cornhole Tournament and the 60th annual Clarion County Arts Council art show.

The second day will feature the Bountiful Harvest Pie and Bake sale, the Fly-in & Drive-in breakfast, the Autorama Cruise In and Junior Olympics. Festival-goers will be able to view the motorcycle show, the Pennsylvania Woodmobile, the Scoot N’ Boots Line Dancers and the Clarion Community Choir Pops Concert.

Monday, the third day, will include Cultural Night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in front of the Courthouse. The show will have a performance by Native American dancers, featuring Reg Pettibone.

The fourth day will feature the Kiddies Parade at 6 p.m. and a second Cultural Night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in front of the Courthouse, including a performance of Japanese drumming by One World Taiko.

The fifth day will include ALF Glass signing. There will also be fire truck rides provided by Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1 at 5 p.m. until dusk. A third Cultural Night featuring a performance by Jaibala Afrika will take place 7 to 8:30 p.m. in front of the Clarion Courthouse. After Cultural Night, karaoke will be held in front of the courthouse until 10 p.m.

Thursday, the sixth day, will have on its schedule another ALF Glass signing. The Clarion University Department of Communication will broadcast live radio and television coverage from 9 a.m. to 6
p.m. A pep rally will be held in front of the courthouse at 7 p.m. during which the homecoming court will be announced. The fourth Cultural Night will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in front of the
courthouse, featuring a performance by Alain NU: The Man Who Knows, an illusionist and hypnotist.

On Friday, the Farmers and Crafters day will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main Street.

The eighth day of the festival will feature the Clarion Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the Tournament of Leaves Parade, the Clarion University Homecoming football game, the Wild World of Animals show and the Oldie’s concert. For alumni there will be the Clarion University Alumni Association homecoming parade reception and the Eagle End Zone alumni party.

The ninth and final day of the festival will feature the Antique Tractor Show from noon to 5 p.m. on Main Street. During the show there will be a musical performance by The Route 8 Band.
