Auditions set for CUP Musical Theatre Festival

CLARION – Clarion University Theater will hold auditions for its 2016 Summer Musical Theatre Festival productions of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Audition dates are 10 a.m. April 9 for actors ages 14 and younger, and 2 p.m. April 9 and 7 p.m. April 10 for actors older than 14, all in Marwick-Boyd Little Theater. Participants are asked to bring sheet music for two 16- to 32-measure cuts of musical theater style songs one ballad and one up-tempo.

An accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning should be prepared and dressed for a dance audition, as well.

Rehearsals for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will begin June 6. Rehearsals begin July 11 for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” There will be eight performances of each show in the Little Theater. High school and college students may be able to earn college credits by participating in these productions.
