Artists wanted for Clarion River art exhibit

In celebration of the Clarion River being named Pennsylvania River of the Year, the Red Brick Gallery in Foxburg will hold an art exhibit this summer. The show will run from July 12 through Aug. 18.

All artists working in any media are invited to participate. Artwork should relate to the Clarion River in some way imagery or content about the river, its wildlife, recreation, history, ecology, geology, personal experiences, etc.

To enter the initial screening, please submit a digital image of each artwork and a brief statement on how it relates to the Clarion River. There is a limit of three entries per person.

Entries will be accepted through July 1 or until the exhibit becomes full.

For this event, there is no entry fee. Interested artists should send entries to Lewis’ email at jasonfloydlewis@hotmail.com with Clarion River Art in the subject heading.

Artists will need to deliver and pick up artwork during the week before and after the exhibit the dates and times will be determined at a later time.

Artists will be required to fill out and sign a consignment form. The Red Brick Gallery will take a 25 percent commission on sold artwork (work does not need to be for sale).

Foxburg is located on the Allegheny River in southwestern Clarion County, just a mile from the mouth of the Clarion River. The bike trail from Foxburg to Parker crosses the mouth of the Clarion.

The Foxburg area is a popular summertime recreation destination with the rivers, bike trail, golf course, winery, restaurants and cultural events.
