Area Halloween events, trick-or-treat hours listed

The following Halloween parades, trick-or-treat times, and other Halloween activities have been announced by various boroughs, townships and organizations in Clarion County:

Clarion Borough Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31. Those wishing to participate should turn on porch lights.

Farmington Township Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

Knox Borough Trunk-or-treat: 5-6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31 at Huston Avenue, Knox. To participate pre-registration is required with Knox Borough Police at (814) 797-1100. Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Both events are following CDC guidelines. Masks are encouraged along with social distancing.

Knox Township 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

New Bethlehem Borough Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

Paint Township Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

Rimersburg Borough Parade: 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31; line-up at 5:20 p.m. at Heeter’s parking lot and march to firehall. There will be no costume contest. Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

Salem Township Trick-or-treat: 4:30-6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

Shippenville Borough Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

Sligo Borough Trick-or-treat: 5-7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31. Those wishing to participate should turn on porch lights.

East Brady Borough Trick-or-treat: 5:30-7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31. Those wishing to participate should turn on porch lights.

Strattanville Borough Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31.

Washington Township Trick-or-treat: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.

Trinity E.C. Church Trunk-or-treat: 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25 at the church located at 699 Golf Course Road in Kossuth.

Summerville Church of Christ Trunk-or-treat: 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at the church located at 12514 Harrison Street, State Route 28 in Summerville.

Halloween activities and parties

Clarion County YMCA will host a Trunk-or-Treat from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at the YMCA parking lot. The YMCA is located at 499 Mayfield Road in Clarion. All children up to 15 years old are welcome to attend this free event. The event will be a “spooktacular” adventure for the Clarion community.

Halloween parade

The Rimersburg Lions Club will hold their annual Halloween parade with lineup at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 in front of Heeter Lumber Company, Main Street in Rimersburg.

The parade which includes the Union High School marching band steps off at 5:30 p.m. and will travel down Main Street to the Rimersburg fire hall.

Due to COVID-19, the costume contest will not be held. This will guarantee the event can be completed outdoors and ensure the safety of all involved.

All participants in the parade will receive food, drinks and a treat provided by the Rimersburg Lions Club.

In the past, more than 200 individuals, young and old, have participated in the parade.

Halloween parade

The 2020 C93 radio station’s annual Halloween parade and trunk or treat event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Clarion Mall.

The costume parade will be a walk through event in the mall with candy stations holding treats for the participating costumed children. Due to COVID-19, there will be no judging of costumes this year and no congregating inside the mall.

The trunk or treat event will be held inside the mall as well as in the parking lot.

This free event is sponsored by: C93, Radio 1300 94.1FM “The G.O.A.T.,” Clarion Car Club, Carrier Insurance, Clarion Mall and A.B.A.T.E.

Halloween festival

The Sligo Improvement Committee is sponsoring a Halloween Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25 at the Sligo ball field on Madison Street.

The festival will hold a youth costume contest with judging to start at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.

To make this spooky event fun for all there will be games, hayrides, bike raffles, train rides, walking maze and cookie painting for your enjoyment. Additionally for your sweet tooth kettle corn and cotton candy will be available.

To tempt your taste buds even further, there will be an eat-n-stand featuring barbecue ham, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, pasta salad, chili, kids meals, refreshments and more.

Everyone is invited to attend this eerie event. You will have a ghostly good time.

Halloween dance and costume party

The Sligo Improvement Committee is sponsoring a Halloween Dance and Costume Party from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Sligo Recreation Center.

This Halloween dance and party will have monstrous music by disc jockey, Joe Rainey as well as prizes for best costumes in a variety of ghostly and gory categories.

Through the evening raffles, a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle will test your luck.

Upon receipt of the entry fee, guests will be offered a taco and nacho bar, desserts and beverages to quench your monstrous appetite.

This event is for ages 21 years and up.
