ALF Crafters Day draws crowds; celebration wraps up this weekend

A few raindrops Friday did not diminish the enthusiasm for the annual Autumn Leaf Festival Farmers and Crafters Day.

Crafters displayed everything from homemade soap to soup and food bowls to cinnamon buns.

The Immaculate Conception Parent Teacher Organization sponsored an arts and crafts show at the parish center, and the Brighton-Pandora Trunk Show was at F.L. Crooks.

PennWest Clarion honored its alumni with the presentation of the distinguished alumni, young alumni and distinguished faculty awards.

The day’s activities ended with a rock concert featuring Legends at the courthouse.

The 70th annual ALF wraps up this weekend, and one of the highlights of course will be today’s Tournament of Leaves parade on Main Street starting at noon.

Prior to the parade, the Clarion River Brewing Company will sponsor a steinholding championship at 6th and Main streets starting at 11:30 a.m.

A PennWest Clarion alumni end zone party will be held at 1 p.m. with the Golden Eagles homecoming football game starting at 2 p.m.

Marty’s Bubblegum Machine will appear at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park, and the Wild World of Animals will be in front of the courthouse at 4 p.m.

An oldies concert will end the day at 6 p.m. at the courthouse.

The festival ends Sunday with the antique tractor show from 2nd to 5th avenues starting at noon.
