From staff reports

Allegheny-Clarion Valley student Brent Hetrick was chosen to represent the school district and the state by performing with the NAFME All-Eastern Symphonic Band.

Hetrick, the first A-C Valley student chosen for the honor, will join 719 high school musicians from Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont for their performances in the NAFME 2021 All-Eastern Honor Ensembles.

The musicians were selected from 1,150 All-State musicians and ranked by their state presidents to fill five ensembles.

The Orchestra (165), Symphonic Band (146), Mixed Chorus (270), Treble Chorus (120) and Jazz Ensemble (18) will participate in a “Virtual Weekend” experience Thursday through Saturday.

Students will individually record their performance and recordings will be edited together to produce a virtual ensemble for the concert performance.

The concert will premiered at 8:30 p.m. on April 23.
