Local veterans and their families are invited to attend the annual Veterans Day program beginning at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School auditorium.
Before the program beginning at 9 a.m., a continental breakfast will be served to attending veterans and their guests in the high school large group instruction room. RSVP for breakfast to Julie Raybuck at (724) 659-4661, Ext. 4103, on or before Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Applications for an “Honorary Diploma”are available in the Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School office for veterans, alive or deceased, who were called for active duty and did not get to graduate with their high school class. Contact Megan Dehart on or before Friday, Nov. 2, at (724) 659-4661, Ext. 3101.
To conclude the Veterans Day events, the A-C Valley High School Band will present a “Salute to Veterans” concert under the direction of Scott DiTullio, which is scheduled 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the high school auditorium. Admission is free.
The Give Club within the high school will also be holding a “coffee drive” for the Mechling-Shakely Veteran’s Center. Donations of canned coffee will be accepted at both the morning and evening program.
